So far as I know the driver may not have relationship with the kernel version.

(I recently got a bug that will happen on different kernel version, but I think you may take it a special case.)

If the XFree86 can successfully build under the kernel (I have ever build XFree86_4.3 on kernel 2.6.X and I cannot smoothly compile it until I modify some source codes of XFree86_4.3), I think it may work.

Sincerely Yours,

cckuo

I'm begginer linux user and I need graphic mode (X-Windows) for program at 2.2.1x kernel and I have the SiS315 that is suported by the Xfree86 4.1 (I see this in Internet)

Could I install the Xfree86 4.1 or later in a RedHat 6.2 or in a linux with kernel 2.2.x ?
