[XFree86] hello

hi, guys i have a problem with xfree or x11, i put startx in my line command 
and it doesnt start it said there is not screen, please guys help up with 
this problem , im using freebsd 5.1 like a virtual machine, its happen too  
normal machine. i wish you help me up :(
