I compiled XFree86 4.3.0 from *.tgz files. I didn't got any error messages in my World.log file. The system has been installed in /home/X11R6 and the /etc/ld.so.conf file has been updated to reflect this.
I can startup the X server. However, I am unable to use the keyboard. Any key I am pressing seems to be interpreted as a request to switch pixel depth and resolutions defined for my screen. The mouse is working properly. Even the xf86cfg utility is showing this behavior. I tried different configurations for the InputDevice without any success.
