Short Summery:
Redhat 7.3, XFree86 4.2.0
ATI Radeon VE 32MEG RAM
Start X windows - no problem.
CTRL-ALT-F1 to get a text console
CTRL-ALT-F7 to go back to X windows
***HANGS***
Screen contents are sometimes confettie colored
other times - parts are missing.
Repeatable - anytime, everytime.
I can rsh into the machine and look around - the "X" process
according to TOP is taking 99.97% of the CPU time.
More details follows - any suggestions would be helpful.

sure the difference between XF86Config-4 and XF86Config (non-4) These
