Jonathan, \XeTeXgenerateactualtext has been really useful for us in creating searchable pdfs in Devanagari, Gujarati, Tamil etc using Xelatex. The text can be easily copy pasted as well as saved. Thank you very much for implementing this. However, pdfs in these Indic scripts created by other methods do not have this ability. Do you know of any browsers (Chrome, Firefox) , word-processors (Open Office, Libre Office) which support this option? I apologize as this is a bit offtopic for xetex list.
