The `.log` file clearly shows an error, the last two lines:
Error 256 (driver return code) generating output;
file test.pdf may not be valid.
The next step is taking the advice of Zdenek Wagner:

with -no-pdf in order to create an xdv file and then run xdvipdfmx on |
it separately. You will see the error message.
xelatex --no-pdf test
xdvipdfmx test
The last command will show an error, what it is?
