The fonts developed by C-DAC and freely distributed by the Indian Government are not properly made. There were several errors. I reported it to the C-DAC as well as to the GoI - Indian Language Technology Development groups. But there is no response. After some pestering C-DAC people said their fonts are very good and advised me to use Windows Word. There the matter stops. I tried with Mangal and it is working fine. I have not yet tried the other Windows fonts like Aparajita, Utsah, Kokila.
