Hello Well, that's interesting. My Memoir isn't from the Stone Age, it's from TeXLive 2011. And although the typesetting was B5, the (pdf) paper wasn't.
But I had "B5". "b5paper" seems to have worked. Looking at the documentation again, I see no plain "B5" so I must have put that due to something I was doing in the past and unconsciously didn't change. Makes me wonder why it 'partially' worked, then. Sigh. Thanks for this!
