Hi Kamal One of the very famous quotations from Ferdoosi about Shahnameh is this one:
بسی رنج بردم در این سال سی// عجم زنده کردم بدین پارسی it means: I suffered during thirty years that I made Iranians alive by contributing to the Persian language (his Shahnameh). Here he uses Parsi as the localised form of Persian language and not Farsi.
