There is an issue with intel HD Graphics 630 and Xen 4.9. This is affecting xen 4.9 from ppa with Ubuntu 17.10 and a self compiled version of xen 4.9 with ubuntu 16.04. It looks like the intel driver i915 is also playing a role.
The behaviour is, that the system is booting but showing a frozen start screen. in dmesg ist showing up the following message: [time] [drm:gen8_irq_handler [i915]] *ERROR* Fault errors on pipe A: 0x00000080 ... and lots of more.
