This is good, I compiled wxstedit a while back in OSX and got a
similar error about an extra @ or something. I thought it was just a
quirk with OSX's gcc and didn't have time to look into it further.

Why would that work for you and not me? Are the CVS files in
wxCode/build/autoconf different than in SVN?

I use Mandriva 2006 (but I don't think this is the problem):

Oops, I'm busted, I just manually changed it. I tried to regenerate it
using acregen.sh and cleaned out what I thought were all the cache
files, but no matter what I did I kept getting 0.2.0 in the generated
configure.
