Liebe Wurfpost, zur Zeit gibt es viele Möglichkeiten sich für den Erhalt und die Verbreitung des Spirit of the Game im Ultimate national und international einzusetzen. Zum Einen sucht das Spirit Komitee weitere aktiv Mitarbeitende. Außerdem endet meine Amtszeit als Vorsitzender zur nächsten Mitgliederversammlung der Ultimate Abteilung (am 7.4. in Darmstadt) und ich werde nicht erneut kandidieren. If there's someone you know who you think would be a particularly good addition to this committee, now would be a good time to have them apply. Committee members must be willing and able to: 1. Uphold good Spirit of the Game and represent the WFDF SOTG committee in their sporting community and in public comments (especially online); 2. Keep the committee's work private until and unless it's ready to be shared; 3. Read and talk in reasonably fluent English for committee business; 4. Read and respond to SOTG emails at least once a week; 5. Dedicate a minimum of six (6) hours a month to committee work and preparation; 6. Attend approximately six (6) SOTG Committee meetings per year, which may occur at various times of day and day of week; 7. Attend one (or more) WFDF multi-day events as Spirit Director (this is optional); 8. Take on responsibility for one (or more) specific aspects of the committee's duties: * Managing the Facebook page * Managing the Instagram page * Int'l SOTG Day (various roles) * Creating documents / flyers, etc * Overseeing translation of Spirit materials * Working with sponsors * Planning Spirit clinics / events * Analysing spirit data to produce global rankings * Keeping the list of active national spirit directors * Taking meeting minutes & producing reports * Being the rules committee liaison * Being liaison to another WFDF committee * Managing the committee's Asana Task list * Overseeing the event Spirit Director assignment process * Having brilliant ideas There are no mandatory prerequisites other than a passion for Spirit of the Game. However, experience working on a committee, experience and training in Spirit roles, and/or connections in the local or international flying disc community are highly valued in a candidate. Committee members are expected to be able to spend 6 hours a month or more working on committee tasks. Here’s how the member application process works: 1. A potential committee member expresses an interest in promoting and supporting Spirit at the international level. 2. The potential committee member speaks to a current committee member about the position and learns about what the role entails, and whether it sounds like they'd be a good match. If they're still interested. 3. Potential member (now candidate) sends to the Chair / [email protected] : * a proper CV/resume * a letter of interest * an endorsement from their country's ultimate organization 4. Once these three items are gathered, the Chair does an interview with the candidate, and assuming there's no concerns, sends the committee a description of the candidate's interest along with his/her supporting materials. 5. Committee votes whether to accept the member.
