Hi George ...

What's wrong with signal reports... lots of us like to know how well we are 
getting out.

I also like contesting and appreciate the shorter exchange of contest more when 
contesting.   I've also seen this mode used by FFMA 6m grid chasers (myself 
included).  All well and good.   Folks can choose the right mode for their 
current purpose.   Just check the contest mode box when contesting.

But that's not a justification to change the default to the mode that happens 
to seem the most useful to you this week.
