I think that asking players is a good idea. I also think that shop is not enough and not the best way, because we give them a few options how much to give for the project. We miss..., we miss..., the donate button guys!(for example like one that Teeworlds have, take a look: http://www.teeworlds.com/).
Also, we can also make a contest for the new webpage - when compared to some other projects wormux one doesn't look very nice :(. Guess there may be prizes, like t-shirt or a mug :).
