No. Best format for compression can be .rar (3.0) or .ace and less
widely used format (some use a fixed dedicated size of RAM to
compress/decompress).

tar.gz are mostly for unix users so I do not see any issue with that.
People that are not able to uncompress a .tag.gz are problably not able
to code, so they don't need the source archive.

I don't care that winzip does not support it (even if I'm very
surprised). I don't plan to encourage people to use non-free software
which are not enable to do their simple job.
