Good memory, Deb, it's been a while. There is no accounting for the strange ideas that provoke people. The local news is reporting that groups of people are gathering at two different spots up in the Santa Cruz mountains, near Summit Road off Highway 17 and at Mount Madonna in the same area. Up to 200 cars at each spot, in the parking lots of restaurants, and even blocking the road. And many of the people have hiking/climbing gear. Evidently there is some sort of mass compulsion to reach the highest possible ground before the "tsunami" hits. Very strange. The latest ETA for Monterey is 0745. I'll be arriving at the bridge club about 0930.
Local news also reporting gas stations jammed. Local NBC affiliate hasn't joined the Today show yet, but KGO in SF has GMA.
