Ya know, I'm surprised that there are no NBC affiliates out there that are
planning to drop "Tonight" after this debacle.

If I were an NBC affiliate GM whose local news ratings were devastated by
Leno at 10, the last thing I would want on is a rehash of the same thing. I
would rather take back the 11:35-12:35 spot and program it locally....more
local ad time for me. There is just no way that Jay can ever get back the
ratings he had when he left last May. I'd keep Jimmy and Carson, as they
are "innocent bystanders" in this mess.

And in a related note, TMZ has published an email on their website that
credits the Leno at 10 idea to former NBC exec Fred Silverman...(Yes, the
same Fred Silverman who brought us "Supertrain".)
