Hello there! I have used the WiX 3.8 IISExtension for installing my web service, and I have not experienced any problems. I have some custom actions that use the ServerManager API for information gathering since my users require the capability of selecting an existing site or creating a new one, but I let the IISExtension handle the installation of the site and web service.
