Simple WebAppGroup refers to the items he build in his project. To see what those items are you need to start at the beginning of the tutorial. Just because it doesn't apply to your situation doesn't mean it's not needed. Try building the tutorial from start to finish, build it, make sure it works, then modify the working tutorial to fit your needs.
