Feature selection can be done in a custom BA. However, applications with Features are often over segmented. For example, I have a product that has six features, but in reality it is always installed in one of three sets of those features. The Feature-Tree actually makes this harder requiring individual selection/deselection of features one mouse click at a time. Ironically, the look of the Feature-Tree is appreciated, but it's utility is not.
Although the Feature-Tree is sexy, it doesn't reflect the actual way the product is installed in the field. A radio button control and three sets of conditional packages would work much better.
