hmmm sorry just had a brief look in MSDN. msts seem to not to fulfill the needs for file transformation (which are stored in embedded cabs):
A transform can modify information that is in any persistent table in the installer database<http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa369395%28v=vs.85%29.aspx>. A transform can also add or remove persistent tables in the installer database. Transforms cannot modify any part of an installation package that is not in a database table, such as information in the summary information stream <http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa372044%28v=vs.85%29.aspx>, information in substorages, or files in embedded cabinets. comp. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa367447%28v=vs.85%29.aspx ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Is your legacy SCM system holding you back?
