Correct. Running in "Modify mode" can do a repair or an uninstall or even install (of features). Since Burn (the Bundle engine) wouldn't know which was done in the end it can only show the MSI in basic UI for post-install operations.

So what your saying is that if you run the BA once it is an install, 2nd time it is an uninstall or repair, but it can't run the MSI in Modify mode so I can remove/add another feature ? Subject: Re: [WiX-users] Feature based MSI and Boostrapper question... Currently, the stock BA doesn't allow feature selection but you could certainly write this in a BA/UX yourself. If you are using feature trees in your MSI and have an existing UI in it, you might be able to get away w/ showing the internal UI but I personally would try to avoid it. -----Original Message----- From: StevenOgilvie [mailto:sogil...@msn.com] Sent: Thursday, December 05, 2013 3:00 PM To: wix-users@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: [WiX-users] Feature based MSI and Boostrapper question... Hi all, Quick question… I haven’t set this up yet but would like to know if it is feasible first before doing the work… My application’s MSI has 3 features” 1. Client app 1 2. Client app 2 3. Client app 3 There is a feature tree page so you can select which feature you want to install and/or at a later date realize you want Client 2 but only installed Client 1 so run the install again. If I use the Bootstrapper to organize the pre-requisites for the Application, what happens if I run the Bootstrapper executable and install Feature 1 (Client app 1) only, then run the Bootstrapper application again, will I get the modify page so I can install a 2nd or 3rd feature? Or will it presume I want to do an uninstall??
