thanks a lot. I'm writing the install location to the registry as of now .. so the upgrade would read that location from the registry and copy over the file after installation.. so the earlier file would need to be overwritten. Where could I schedule this copyfile? Would it be a custom action ? I'd need to copy the file before the old installation is removed, right? But then wouldnt the new installation overwrite the file ?
