Done:

"C:\Program Files\WiX Toolset v3.7\bin\heat" dir "BGINFO4XW" -cg
SampleGroup -out SampleGroup.wxs -gg -dr basedir

> 2) In your main authoring file, you then need to define a directory of ID

Done:

<Directory Id='ProgramFilesFolder' Name='PFiles'>
        <Directory Id='INSTALLDIR' Name='BGInfo4X for Windows
$(var.ProductVersion)'></Directory>
        <Directory Id='basedir'></Directory>
</Directory>

Well, ... the resulting .msi is now installed inside %Program Files%,
as C:\Program files\BGINFO4XW

Why INSTALLDIR is not used, so the resulting installation is located
in "%Program Files%\BGInfo4X for Windows $(var.ProductVersion)"?

What I'm doing wrong?

Ok, I will try -ag , but I'm not sure if I will create updates or
patches or I will differentiate the product line always as a whole (as
Libreoffice.org does in their releases).

I'm very new with this technology, it is a little difficult to understand. :)

Thanks a lot for your time.
