1. Burn will not flood ARP with entries. By default, the MSI package registration is suppressed so you'll only get the Bundle registration in the end. Burn is used when you create a Bundle element using WiX v3.6+.
2. Merge Modules are mostly useful when sharing setup logic with people that are not using the WiX toolset. If you just want to pull in ComponentGroups, then .wixlibs are much faster and integrate better with the whole build flow. The Merge Module version is not persisted outside of the MSI, so it's only really useful when talking about which Merge Module your consumer has, i.e. "We just updated MM1 to v1.9.0.0, if you have an older version of our Merge Module be sure to update soon and re-release your MSI because old versions have a bad bug."
