And I replaced it with the <MajorUpdate ...> while defining PlatformProductName. Unfortunately there is no change in behavior. I still get the same error in the log, the old product isn't removed. I further investigated the log for an install without the old version of the product. I get the same error for RemoveExistingProduct in the log. That's strange. Do you have a minimal but complete example with this kind of upgrade-definition? I hope I could use it as a template for my product source.
