We are thinking about modifying the MsiEngineComcatProperties() to allow optional handling of MSINEWINSTANCE=1 on Uninstall. Optional meaning - on uninstall we would exclude this from the parameters so that msiexec.exe will unistall the transform.
We are using a Multi-Transform msi and need to use the MSINEWINSTANCE=1 on Install. However using WIX, we have not found any means to exclude the msiProperty MSINEWINSTANCE=1 from the Chain on uninstall. If the parameter MSINEWINSTANCE=1 is defined, msiexec.exe /x will fail. Any comments?
