After quite a bit of google'ing, I came across someone who had a similar
issue which was fixed by emptying their %TEMP% folder. So, being desperate,
I did just that and my builds started working again.  It would seem there
might be some sort of name collision somewhere, but I have no idea where
(candle, msbuild, sitting between keyboard and chair).

In other words: it works, but I don't know why. ;-/
