Although i am asking this questions as copied from http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11288820/customizing-a-maintainencetypedialog-not-successful, i also faced the same problem that i have not been able to modify the MaintenanceWelcomeDialog, as per alexey's advice i tried to do what he mentioned as well however nothing seemed to work.
