Hello, I am a WiX virgin picking it up for the first time. I've got an MSI I need to pull together for a Sql Server 2008 instance.
That I know of, Sql Server 2008 requires Microsoft .NET 2.0 SP2 (or 3.5 SP1 if we go with more advanced features). Are there any halfway decent extensions to WiX that facilitate inclusion of prerequisites? Or is that something we need to roll up ourselves? Also that I know of, there is a requirement for Microsoft Installer: only trouble is, Windows 7 isn't mentioned in the 4.5 docs anywhere: I am assuming that since Windows 7 is basically Vista at its core, that 4.5 will do for Windows 7. Short of that, what is customary deploying an MSI, to include the latest Microsoft Installer, or expect an end-user / admin to be savvy enough to install that as well? Of course, that is contingent upon the marketplace receiving our product. P.S. I've probably asked this before, but, any halfway decent tutorials we can study coming up to speed on the learning curve? Thanks... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For Developers, A Lot Can Happen In A Second. Boundary is the first to Know...and Tell You.
