Sorry, I did not mean during Minor/Patch creation that files can be deleted, but during regular development that they can be. As long as each component is correctly set up with single folder link and a static key file then each build will not generate a new guid/keyfile.
Anyways as I mentioned I am new to WiX and therefore just trying to learn the tool in's and out's as IS did a lot of the background msi database work for you and therefore you did not need to know what was necessarily going on in the back ground to create a complex install.
