Thanks Tomasz. I didn't mean to imply that Sharp Setup was unstable and when I look back at my previous comment I see that there are a few things I should have added. Specifically, I understand that some add-ins can cause issues in other add-ins - in fact the product I'm working on is an add-in for a VS-like product in another industry and I've suffered similar situations with other misbehaving add-ins causing an apparent issue in mine.
When my VS was crashing / erroring (can't remember exactly which) I did suspect it was something to do with AnkhSVN, but it was late at night and I wasn't that desperate to figure out the issue. Since then, my setup UI task has been put on hold. Sharp Setup definitely looks impressive and maybe I'll get a better look at it when I get back to this task.
