I was in a "Twitter-debate" (yeah, 140 char conversations aren't real high fidelity) where someone was trying to convince me that there should be TFS activities for WiX. I pointed out that the way to build setup with WiX toolset in TFS is to use MSBuild. MSBuild is where you do build stuff and TFS integrates with it famously. We have done work and I'm doing more work right now to make sure WiX toolset supports MSBuild very well.
No one ever provided reasons why doing more work to integrate directly with TFS was a good thing. So we haven't done it. Use MSBuild and if that isn't good, please educate me why. <smile/> PS: You don't have to install WiX on the build machine to get the MSBuild interaction. There is a help topic in the WiX.chm dedicated to how to check-in the WiX toolset to your source control directly.
