Have you got something like this in your code:
        <UIRef Id="WixUI_ErrorProgressText" />

I have to say I don't see why this would only be required on some OSs.
Have you checked the version of "Windows Installer" on each of the
targets? May be that would explain the difference.

Subject: [WiX-users] installer with no UI - text missing on XP 32

Hi,
I am observing a bizarre behavior - when running installer with no UI on
Win XP 32 bit the dialog is missing the description text.
The initial small dialog with title "Windows Installer" saying
"Preparing to install.." shows up, then followed by the dialog with no
text.

The same installer runs just fine on other OS-s: WinXP 64, W2K8 32, W2K3
32.
The text that is missing is "Please wait while Windows configures
<product name>".

Has anybody ever seen it? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
Lena
