Hello, because I did not find information on this while searching I thought may be someone from the list has experience on this: For a product we need to ship e.g. the VC2008 redistributables as prerequisite and install it before our own product. This can be done with a Bootstrapper (setup.exe) that first calls the VC2008redist.exe and after that out product.msi. I now got the requirement that the customer wants to launch the msi and no exe programm. So I found that WI 4.5 has the possibility of an embedded chainer. So my idea is to embed the bootstrapper as embedded chainer in the MSI so it is called when double clicking the msi file. But I am not sure if this would work. The references, examples and descriptions on chainer only mention the launch of several MSI in a chain but the launch of an exe installation. Does anyone have any experience if this might work?
