My service uses an instance of Sql Server. Now, if that instance is on the current machine, I need to set a dependency on that service so that my service starts afterwards.
I can foresee a hard time getting this into my installer. I need to determine if the sql server is on the current machine from the server/instance provided by the user, then determine the method of identifying the service in order to set a dependency on it, then dynamically adding this to my service during the install. So, is there a relatively easy way to do this? Or are there any guides out here for this situation? Looking for any help on this I can get!
