Blair-2 - thanks for your reply, and that'll be exactly what the problem is. So one UpgradeCode Guid for all versions of one product? And I assume that by having different ones, I've essentially told windows installer that each msi represents an entirely different product. That will explain the tutorial too, since it blanks out the first few hex digits in each upgrade code, and I was substituting two different sets.
