I haven't got a rar unzipper here, so I haven't looked at the log but:

I'll assume that there is a database that the user has updated and you want to 
keep. So you make sure that the component guid is the same in both old and new, 
then you sequence RemoveExistingProducts towards the end of the install. The 
new install overwrites the older files using file overwrite rules, which 
include "don't overwrite updated data files", so the database is preserved. 

If your RemoveExistingProducts is sequenced near InstallInitialize then you'll 
effectively get an uninstall followed by an install of the new product and your 
database would be removed.
