Hi all
I have 6 MSIs chained together via Setupbld. On some machines, notably XP, I
get a pop-up box with
"Please wait while the installer finishes determining your disk space
requirements" and no matter how long we leave it, it never finishes the check.
If I shut down the installer and try again, it installs fine. The issue I have
is that it seems totally random as to which one of the 6 MSIs that it occurs
on. They all vary in size and gui.
By the looks of it Microsoft's own product have this error as well...

That article and several others on the internet suggest using the /qn via the
command line
msiexec /i MyInstall.msi /qn
But that is not an option for us, as the users need to be able to have full gui
access.
I also noticed that someone else had this same issue on the 16th of September
and posted here, so it is definitely a problem, but it happens so randomly,
that I, or anyone else, never have logging on to see what has gone wrong.
The only difference I've noticed is that on Vista it seems to have MSI
v4.5.6002 while on XP the maximum version number you can get is v4.5.6001.
That's the only way I can explain it not working consistently on XP, but then I
am grasping at straws.
Has anyone else found a better solution to this error?
