I am using Wix 3 to create a patch. The Target and Upgraded msi's were both created using Wix 3. I would like to know how to have the patch ignore certain files using a purely wix patch creating solution.
I could always used the UpgradedFilesToIgnore table ala pcp files and patchwiz.dll. Is the ComponentRef element under the PatchFamily element the way to do this. I image that this prevents patching of an entire component, not just individual files. I am not clear from the schema documentation for patching on how to do this. Would the .PCP file, patchwiz.dll, msimsp.exe be a better solution?
