I don't think .Net assemblies use SelfReg so heat won't help you, you have to use regasm to generate a reg file and then code it in WiX.

I have a suspicion that heat is trying to use regsvr32 to harvest the registry information from the Assembly. If so, that is a problem for me because our admin has completely removed the ability for us to use regsvr32 (we have to do our registration via Visual Studio which seems to do "register for com interop" differently). So I started poking around to see how to do this and the only other thing I found is an element called ComPlusAssembly which appears to do something similar.
