Thanks Brian that did the trick. I was able to set the value of this property at run time using XMLUpdate task from MSBuild.Commuity.Tasks, now the "SourceDir\" is translated into the full path of the source files with each build. With some 1200 files to build and package for each environment, dev, staging and prod, this one was making me crazy, so you have saved me a great deal of work.
