For comparison, some totals for building multiple packages here:

high > 478 seconds > 83MB
low  > 461 seconds > 100MB

The main slowness is because I'm running in a VM running 2003 server.  
The times are closer than I thought, but either way I'm getting lots  
of coffee breaks ;-)
