Hi, We are experiencing the following [strange] issue with performance counters installed via WiX. The problem is fairly specific, but maybe someone knows what's going on.
Environment: - Win 2003 OS (VM) - VS 2008 - WiX 3.0 Software: - For purposes of this question, we are installing an ASP.NET web service. Problem: - We are having trouble opening the performance counters for the *newly installed service* in a VS 2008 on a *remote machine*. Both machines are Win 2003 VMs. Note: - As viewed locally, performance counters are installed correctly and are functional. - I can open perf counters if they are installed by a managed dll run via InstallUtill.exe. - This issues does not repro in Win 2008, things work fine. - Our installer already restarts Remote Registry Service. That was one step I saw recommended in a forum. Any and all help or advice would be appreciated.
