I'm trying to create a basic preprocessor extension that will do simply what
Peter blogged about
http://blogs.msdn.com/pmarcu/archive/2007/04/27/wix-functional-preprocessing.aspx
here (i.e. the functional preprocessing blog). I've tried to follow the
steps in the WiX help to create my own function, but Wix never seems to find
my function. Do I add my function to my derived PreprocessorExtension class?
For example, in the WiX help, you have

 public class SamplePreprocessorExtension : PreprocessorExtension
 { .... }

I would like to just be able to do have a function called GetGuid or
something in that class. Then I could refer to it as $(sample.GetGuid(...))

I then tried to implement the code in the "

Extending WiX Preprocessing " blog but ran into the same issue of WiX not
recognizing the function. I must be doing something wrong in general. Does
anybody have an example of implementing your own custom function?

Thanks
