I too were using MessageBox.Show since nothing else seemed to work. However, next problem is, that the MessageBoxes are not always in front and loose focus. What you can do to make sure it always has the focus, is, using MsgBox() from VisualBasic namespace instead. This method basically wraps around MessageBox.Show (thus doubling the exception handling...), but it also always works as a modal Dialog to the application.
