Our application is currently installed as perUser, however we want to switch to perMachine in the next upgrade. The problem is that FindRelatedProducts/RemoveExistingProducts does not appear to find the previous (perUser) install when installing the new (perMachine) install, even when installing under the same user account that installed the previous version. As a result, the old version doesn't get uninstalled which leads to duplicate shortcuts, duplicate add/remove program entries, and a host of other issues. Any idea how I could get the old per-user product removed? I'm not opposed to resorting to scripting if that's what it will take to get it done.
Note that I don't expect it to ever work properly if you're installing the upgrade from a different account than the original perUser install - I just need the upgrade to work properly from at least that account.
