On your button that launches the BrowseDlg you have to set the
properties up for that dialog first.  I don't have the source to
BrowseDlg handy, but its using an indirect property to control which
property gets set by the browsing.  An indirect property means that
there's a property whose value is the name of another property which
will contain the browsed for path.
