I have a minor upgrade msi that I want to be double-clickable, but when I try it pops the dialog stating an existing product is already installed. Understood and expected, and from reading up I'm seeing it's not really a plausible solution, but I'm still curious if there's some way to do this aside from a bootstrapper.
I would've thought if I use a type 51 to set the properties I'm using on the cmd line (REINSTALLMODE/ADDLOCAL/etc) early in the sequence it should work, but no success :( I'm stuck in a pickle where I can't do a patch due to component/feature restrictions, and in my case a major upgrade is out of the question, so if anyone has found a solution to date I'd be very gracious to here it!
