2. I would suggest that the most reliable solution would be to have a solution that set the component guid to "*". This isn't very well documented but I believe it sets the guid to an MD5 hash of the folder name and component name (see here: http://installing.blogspot.com/2006/09/automatically-generating-componen t.html) I am working on something like this at the moment, if I get it working I'll post details. At the very least, you could open a Feature Request. 2. This is a particular challenge with the Windows Installer due to the Component Rules. If you have a solution for including large number of files that does not violate the Component Rules that'd be a great thing to add to the WiX toolset. 3.
